Your time on the water is valuable.
Our guides are selected for their
ability to help you make the most of that time. They do this by putting you on fish, improving your skills and
increasing your knowledge. And by sharing good stories, laying out a great spread at lunch and generally being
fine company. Each BRO guide is licensed. Each is skilled at working with anglers of all levels.
And, most important, each must pass the ultimate guide test — taking John, Terri or Kurt fishing —
before they’re allowed to hit the water with you.

John and Terri started Blackfoot River Outfitters in 1996, after six years' of guiding for
other local outfitters who failed to implement their own standards of fun, energetic professionalism.
In contrast to most large Montana fishing outfitters, together they still tally more than 150 days a
year on the waters of Montana and are the preferred Western Montana outfitter for noted booking
companies like Frontier's International Travel. Terri started fly-fishing in her home state of
Colorado upon entering Durango's Fort Lewis College in 1984, and has since angled all across the
West and several saltwater destinations. Prior to moving to Montana, John guided fishing and
whitewater rafting in his native Colorado, plus New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Utah, California,
Oregon, Washington, Idaho and even Africa. Terri and John's combined guiding experience totals
more than 30 years and is going strong! |
